My first day of middle school was FANTASTIC! I'll take you through it:
Before school: I got there about five minutes early and had time to take my bag to my locker and put some more stuff in my trapper keeper before I foolishly cut myself on a scissors. Luckily, Ms. S. was nearby and she told some girls to get me a band-aid from the nurse's office. I made it to class just in time!
First period: Mr. Volk's class for language arts. He explained the basic rules, handed us our planners, and the principal and assistant pricipal came on the TV and welcomed us, and talked about the covers of our planners. Then Mr. Volk said we were young adults, his goal was for us to have no homework, and if we just gave him a little, he'd give us a lot.
Halltime: I was in the hall for a few minutes getting my trapper keeper settled. My combination is so easy. I would put it on here, but someone might steal stuff, so I'll just put it in code and won't even tell the code I used: Y-O-U. Haha, that spells YOU.
Second period: Back to Mr. Volk's class for the second half of language arts. He read part of a book that I can't remember the title of. Then he handed us our textbooks.
Halltime: A quick stop at my locker to get some final things situated.
Third period: Mr. Volk AGAIN, this time through science. I listened to another lecture about his rules, then he explained how some of the science stuff in the room works, like the eye rinse station and the chemical shower.
Halltime: Putting my art stuff into my art case and rushing down the hall.
Fourth period: ART CLASS! Mrs. Roth is a good teacher. She assigned us cubbies, and has a kiln in her classroom. We get to sit on stools instead of chairs. She said we'll be doing a lot of cool stuff over the year.
Fifth period-first half: LUNCH!!! I had chicken O's, apricots in water, and chocolate milk. It was delicious, and I'll tell you, normally I don't like barbecure sauce, but it was the only sauce the school offered and it was pretty darn good!
Fifth period-second half: Advisory with Mrs. Roth. We got a handout and then started a game where we count M&Ms, write the number of colors and our names on sheets of paper, then put them in a bucket. That's as far as we've gotten so far, but Mrs. Roth said there'll be more.
Halltime: Not much, just trying to get down to the gym as fast as I could.
Sixth period: Oops! I didn't realize that I had choir today instead of phy ed, so when I showed up in the gym, the teacher was like, "You don't come here today. You come tomorrow" I hurried off to the choir room. We did roll call like the other classes, but we were singing it. Then we highlighted our choir days on our calendars (mine are B and E. Today is an A day, but we don't start choir until Tuesday), and learned good posture and a new song in an English accent.
Halltime: Hurrying downstairs again! The seventh graders didn't even notice that I was younger.
Seventh period: Advanced math with Mrs. Bernardy! She had a funeral to go to, so a sub taught us. I don't know her name. We were sent on a scavenger hunt through our textbooks. It was cool.
Halltime: Back upstairs again!
Eighth period: Social studies with Ms. S! First, she has Garfeild pictures all over her walls and ceiling. She has a bunch of plush garfeilds around her desk. Sometimes they call her Ms. Garfeild. She took roll, then told us the top ten things that drive her crazy, and let me tell you she is a GREAT actress! She can do different voices, always say something to make you laugh, and she even has a "Blurting Dance". She is a riot!!!
After school: After getting my stuff, Katelin came to my house. She's gonna do that alot since her parents cant pick her up every day. She was here for about 2 hours and then her mom came and got her.
Fun day all around!!!
